My Little Shadow.....

Literally.

These are just some fun pictures of Harper playing dress up. Yes, those are my shoes (2 different ones) and yes that is a belt around her neck.

Harper is not a very independent child at home. She does really well when we are other places like church, friends' houses, restaurants with playgrounds, etc. She will just go off and play with other kids or just on her own. But at home this child will not leave me alone! She MUST be in the same room that I am in, no matter what (unless she's sleeping). I have tried going into her room and playing with her and then leaving her in there to play, but she just follows me out. There are some good times when she will just play in whatever room we're in and let me get things done, but it is starting to get worse. I think she has realized that we're moving again and she might be grasping on to the fact that a baby is coming and she has gotten really clingy! She is constantly wanting me to hold her and it's starting to get old. If there are any moms out there that have any ideas on how to remedy this problem, please tell me!!!

no ideas, but i do think it is just the age. rachael is like that with me and we're not moving and i'm not pregnant. i'm trying to enjoy it, but sometimes a mom just needs a break!

It is the age. Between 18-24 months they begin to be clingy again. I read it somewhere in a parent magazine someplace. (Nice I know). Jordyn is still in the stage. It can be really tough sometimes. Like when I walk out to get the mail and she completely loses it! I mean meltdown.

Wish I had some advice, but Sydney has constantly needed me to hold her or have my hand to hold her whole life (the whole 19 months!), hopefully she'll grow out of it before it drives you too nuts!

Both my girls did the same thing. It's exhausting! Elle stopped being so clingy when I had Lily Kate. Lily Kate is still clingy when she's by herself. Its nice when Elle's around, because they usually go off and play together....which is nice until they find the nail polish....

You'll love having two kids! It's easier when they start to play together.

My Mom said the same thing that Kelly said. When she Had Kristy, she was SO clingy, but then once she had Mandy and Mandy could sit up, it took off from there because Kristy would go and get her toys and put them in her hand and watch her drop them and give them back to her again, and put hats on her, etc. they just need a playmate is all--and Harper's soon to get one!
