Mom Scare

I have been really blessed as a mother not to have too many scares while my daughter is at such a young age. With that being said....

This year for Christmas, in Harper's stocking she got a box of 'Good & Fruity's. Her Grandma Joann gave us fun snacks and stuff to take with us to the water park. Well, it was a great idea and after Ryan and I ate the treats Harper played with the boxes. They have been her favorite toy. If she's ever fussy or bored with her other toys we just have to give her these boxes and she's happy! Earlier today I was at a presidency meeting and I had Harper with me. To keep her happy during the meeting I sat her next to me and gave her the box. She was doing great. I looked over at her and she was acting a little weird. She was sort of acting like she had the chills and then I noticed that she gagged a little. I checked, and she was breathing fine so I didn't get too worried. I thought maybe she bit a piece of the box off and it tasted weird or something. I put her in my lap and checked her mouth and there wasn't anything in it. She kept on gagging and I started to get a little worried. She continued to gag and a square piece of the box showed up in her mouth. She didn't cry or fuss at all. She just acted a little surprised. I can only think that the piece of the box was lodged in her throat and she just gagged it up. After I realized what happened, I was a little scared but luckily everything was fine.

Right before my presidency meeting I gave Harper a bath so that when I got home I could put her straight to bed. I sat her in the tub and put her rubber duckie in front of her to play with and she got a little over excited and dove for it. She face planted into the water. There wasn't much water in the tub but it was enough to cover her face. She must have been like that for about a second and a half but it felt like hours to me. I grabbed her right away and picked her up. She was really scared because she inhaled a little bit of water. She cried for a minute but I got her back into the tub with her duckie and she was fine!

Hopefully there won't be many more of these. I know it's probably inevitable that there will be, so hopefully I'll be prepared!

I still lay Lexi in the tub because I worry about her tipping she isn't as good at sitting as Harper. That was scary at the meeting but you were so compused. I was impressed. I think these kind of things just happen when you have kids.

There will be. . .and she will be fine everytime! But that doesn't make your heart stop from beating everytime it happens!

Funny I should read this post today as Devon fell off our bed, which might as well be as high as Hayden's top bunk!!!

Wow. This post was intense! I was scared with you reading through. Babies can be so quick sometime! I'm glad Harper's okay. =)

Abs, why don't you come over tomorrow in the morning some time, whatever works with Harper's nap schedule. We can just hang out and chat
